Busy couple of weeks of woodturning lessons!

The last couple of weeks have been busy in the workshop, with various 'turners' - 'beginners and improvers' booking in for lessons, from all walks of life! The weather has been good and the garden is starting to 'bloom' so the countryside welcome will be glorious over the next month or so for all who have booked a woodturning lesson or couse.

Melanie and Howard did well on their day session - this is what they had to say!

Melanie

I gave my Partner a day with Andy learning wood turning, and did the course with him. It was a super day. Andy was warm and welcoming. His workshop was professional, and safe. His equipment was very high spec and well cared for. Andy was very reassuring , and encouraging, and my Partner was delighted to be able to get on with his bowl and experiment under Andy's watchful eye, or ear. I would highly recommend this course. I learnt so much about holding the tools correctly and the different effect of different cuts. And we both took home beautiful bowls we had made.

Howard

"Wanted to learn how to wood turn,Andy made this possible in his excellent work shop with great guidance . Overall I had a fantastic day and came away having learnt the basics and rewarded with a lovely bowl. Great day , thanks Andy."

Leo had a two day course and achieved a lot in that time. Here is what he had to say:-

"2 excellent days spent in Andy's superb workshop in a delightful setting by the New Forest. He has a wealth of knowledge on tools, technique and timber which he dispenses in a relaxed but informative style. I came away with greater skills and confidence and a notebook full of useful tips. I only wish I'd done it sooner!"

Derek was next, He wanted to learn the basics but as he was trying to establish his own workshop we came up with a few suggestions which he could try at home. Here is what derek had to say.........

"Andy is an excellent teacher and is so happy to share any of his knowledge and best practice ideas. I spent some very valuable hours with him, expecting to get taught the basics but ended up coming with all sorts of extra ideas for my workshop and ways of using the tools. I would recommend Andy to anyone, newcomer like me or improving woodturner looking for great ideas from an innovative professional. Thanks Andy, I will start planning for my next visit!" At 81 years of age Geoff discovered woodturning about a year ago - we had a cracking day with these comments left by Geoff on the Craft Course website - thanks Geoff!

"I have been wood turning for about a year but never had a lesson from a professional teacher, what an eye opener. I learned so much in such a short time by a very friendly talented woodturner. Apart from all of the useful tips the greatest thing I learned from Andy was finesse. At the ripe old age of eighty one i'm hooked. If any one out there is thing of having a go at woodturning do it and start with Andy Browne. Thanks Andy" geoff potter
