My son is now about to embark on the Duke of Edinburgh Award and he wants Woodturning to be his skil

I booked a one-day course with Andy as a birthday gift for my 14yr old son, and was encouraged to give it a go myself since I was going to be hanging around anyway. I’m so glad I did as it turned out to be an amazing experience for both of us. My son had kept showing me Woodturning demonstrations on YouTube which made me think he needs to experience the real deal. Andy IS the real deal! A real wealth of information and skills. His tutoring style is relaxed and friendly, providing the right mix of demonstration, gentle encouragement and letting you go for it. His workshop is an Aladdin’s cave of tools and equipment all neatly displayed. I could see my son was totally awestruck! The whole day was five-star, topped off with a delicious cottage pie courtesy of Martine, on the decking overlooking a truly beautiful coy carp pond shrouded by various species of bamboo.
